VISITS & TOURS

Throughout the year we receive visitors from various organisations and establishments who travel from all around the world to see the mosque. A great deal of visitors are from faith, inter-faith, no faith and educational institutions wishing to further their understanding of Islamic lifestyle and worship. Tourists make up a large part of the international visitors along with foreign students and delegations from Europe, the Americas, Africa, the Middle-East and Asia. The mosque mostly receives a high number of bookings from groups and individuals from in and around Britain as well as from within its primary region, Greater Manchester.

Khizra Masjid is open to visitors throughout the year. We receive a large number of visitors from schools, colleges and universities wishing to find out more about the workings of a mosque and the Islamic faith for projects and studies.

We also have a number of faith-based groups, organisational visits and tourists who visit the mosque. Most visits are booked via the main office and in writing. We must have notice of at least two weeks for a visit so that we can make the necessary arrangements. We have three main hosts on hand to cater for groups of different ages. City-visiting tourists may drop in without prior appointment.

A normal visit consists of an observation of prayer, a tour of the mosque building and a Q&A or discussion session. Light refreshments and worksheets are also provided for younger visitors.
